Bicyclist struck, killed by hit-and-run driver in East Atlantic Beach, Nassau police say

A bicyclist was killed early Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run crash in East Atlantic Beach, Nassau County police said.
The crash occurred on Beech Street near Scott Drive around 7:45 a.m., police said. The identity of the bicyclist has not been released by police.
The driver, whom police identified only as being female, was arrested a short time later. She was being held at the Fourth Precinct in Hewlett.
Police have not confirmed charges in the case — and additional details were still emerging as of 1:30 p.m.
