A private ambulance struck a utility pole Thursday morning on Woodbury Road near Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury injuring one person, police said.

The crash occurred at 6:50 a.m., Nassau County police said. Police said one passenger, apparently a relative of the patient being transported, was injured and taken to Syosset Hospital. It was not immediately clear if anyone else was injured - or what caused the crash.

Police did not identify the ambulance company.
