If babies born on 11/11/11 are a sign of good fortune, a Mineola family can expect great days ahead.

Olivia Nogueira Martins was born at 11:11 a.m.

Dr. Gary Rosenberg of Garden City delivered the baby by Caesarean section Friday at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, the hospital said.

Olivia weighed 7 pounds and was 20 inches long.

Her mother, Rosa Martins, 34, was doing well Friday, the hospital said. She and her husband, Paulo, have a 3-year-old son, Marco.

"It just happened. We didn't schedule it," Paulo Martins, 36, said in a telephone interview from his wife's bedside.

The truck driver said he and his wife are leaning against having another child.

"One of each. Right now, that's it," he said.
