A two-car collision with a "minor injury" brought traffic to a standstill Monday on the westbound Southern State Parkway in Wantagh.

The crash was reported at 10:31 a.m. near Exit 28, Wantagh Avenue.

Two lanes were closed for about 45 minutes, causing major delays for westbound traffic, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. There was eastbound rubber-necking that caused minor delays.

Police could not immediately provide details on the types of vehicles involved in the crash or the injury.

It also was unclear if the injured person was transported for medical care or treated at the scene.
