Two 911 calls to police -- one by a 16-year-old girl alone in her Elmont home, the other by a neighbor -- led to the arrest of two Elmont men charged with burglary Wednesday, Nassau County police said.

Police said Reginald Gourgue, 20, of 1389 North St., and Danh V. Nguyen, 19, of 759 Arcadian Ave., were arrested by officers from the Fifth Precinct and the Bureau of Special Operations after a search of the area. Both men were charged with second-degree burglary and are scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.

The burglary occurred on Lydia Avenue at about 6 p.m., police said. Police said it was then that the 16-year-old girl, whose identity was not released, heard someone ring her doorbell "multiple times."

Police said the girl looked out a window, saw Gourgue and Nguyen, and then watched as they climbed a fence and entered the backyard of the home.

The girl locked herself in her bedroom, police said, and she called 911.

The two men apparently set off a house alarm when they entered the home, police said, and that alarm, the 911 call from the girl and another 911 call placed by a neighbor led responding officers to the scene.

Police said Gourgue and Nguyen were arrested "a short time later," but did not say where the two were located.
