2 killed in crash in North Bellmore, police say

Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday night in North Bellmore, Nassau police said.
The crash happened about 9:30 p.m. on Jerusalem Avenue and George Road, police said.
A police spokesman said he had no other details in the ongoing investigation, including the number of occupants in each vehicle and direction of travel.
At the scene, a mangled sport utility vehicle could be seen by a sedan with the back end crumpled. The debris field stretched from the roadway to sidewalk.
A van from the medical examiner’s office arrived about 10:30 p.m.
The North Bellmore fire department said it took another victim to Nassau University Medical Center.
It was not clear how many people were injured in the crash and how many died at the scene.
