Two Jericho firefighters suffered minor injuries battling a house fire early Sunday morning, officials said.

The blaze was reported at 2:05 a.m. at a home on Birchwood Park Drive. A man inside the home awoke to a loud pop from the third floor, where he recently had a renovation, according to Nassau County police.

After discovering smoke, the man evacuated his family and called the fire department. Roughly 100 firefighters from Jericho and neighboring departments responded to extinguish the blaze.

The injured firefighters were taken to an area hospital, where they were treated and released. One suffered smoke inhalation, the other's injuries were not known, police said. The home was destroyed, police said.

Detectives from Nassau's Arson Bomb Squad said the fire does not appear suspicious, but released no further details.
