2 seriously injured crossing Roosevelt street
Two men crossing a street in Roosevelt were struck by a car and seriously injured Tuesday night, Nassau County police said.
The accident occurred on Babylon Turnpike near Madison Avenue at 9:10 p.m.
Ellen Hagood was driving her 2003 Mazda westbound on Babylon Turnpike when she struck Komari Franklin and Jahlil Brown, both of Freeport. The men were crossing against traffic, police said.
Franklin was knocked unconscious, police said, and was bleeding heavily from his head when he was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow.
Brown suffered a hip injury.
The condition of both men Wednesday morning was not immediately known.
Police said the vehicle was impounded for a safety check, but said no charges were filed.
