Three men tried to use forged credit cards to make purchases at the Louis Vuitton store at Roosevelt Field Mall late Saturday afternoon, Nassau police said Sunday.

Fitzpatrick Louis-Jean, 24, of Westbury, Jean Pierre-Charles, 22, of Cambria Heights and Noel Gayle, 25, of Jamaica tried to used credit cards that bore their names but magnetic strips that belonged to different names and accounts, police said.

The discrepancy led the store's manager to become suspicious and call police.

Louis-Jean and Pierre-Charles are charged with second-degree possession of a forged instrument and attempted grand larceny. Gayle is charged with grand larceny and possession of a forged instrument.

The three are to be arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
