Three men were arrested on charges of second-degree robbery in connection with an incident Saturday morning in West Hempstead.

Nassau County police detectives said the victim was outside 78 Hempstead Tpke. when three men approached and demanded money.

The trio fled with $27 from the victim, but were stopped by police on the corner of Hempstead Avenue and Front Street after the 2 a.m. incident, according to police.

Arrested were Abraham Santiago, 20, of 767 Windsor Rd., Uniondale; and Melvin Yuliani Valle, 20, and Ariel Mendoza, 19, both of 198 Jerusalem Ave., Hempstead.

The three were scheduled for arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
