Two Hempstead men and a teen were arrested on Sunday morning after Hempstead police arrived at a house to investigate shots fired and found an assault weapon there, Nassau police said.

Hempstead officers went to 22 Booth St. at 1:12 a.m. to respond to a call of shots fired, police said. When the officers arrived, they found shell casings outside the house and bullet holes in the front door.

After officers entered the home, they found an AK-47 assault rifle, police said.

The two men in the home -- James Barksdale, 48, of 22 Booth St.; Kashiem Johnson, 19, of 600 Fulton Ave., and Donnell Crosby, 16, of 22 Booth Street -- were all arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said. No one was injured.

The three were scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
