3 cops injured in Elmont; 2 teens arrested
Nassau police said three officers were injured early Sunday when they attempted to shut down a loud party at a home in Elmont.
Police responded to the home on Nassau Street to inform the residents that they were in violation of a county noise ordinance. The party also involved underage drinking, police said.
Two brothers, Michael Thomas, 17, and Samuel Thomas, 19, fought with the officers after trying to prevent them from entering the home, police said. Two officers suffered back injuries and were treated at the scene, while a third was cut on the finger and was treated at a hospital, police said.
The Thomas brothers were charged with two counts of second-degree assault, obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest, police said. Both are scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
Michael Thomas was charged as an adult, police said.
