4 hurt in Bellmore house fire

Four people were rushed to a hospital after a Bellmore home caught fire Monday morning, police said.
About 100 firefighters from four departments responded to the scene in the 3140 block of Shore Road at 7:35 a.m., authorities said.
Details of what caused the fire aren't yet known and it is still being investigated. Damage estimates are also being assessed, officials said.
A 93-year-old woman and 61-year-old man, who were in the home when the fire started, sustained smoke inhalation and were taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment, police said.
A 43-year-old man and 17-year-old boy suffered lacerations while coming to the aid of the two victims, officers said. They also were taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.
The Arson Bomb Squad, Nassau County fire marshal and the Bellmore, North Bellmore, Merrick and Wantagh fire departments responded to the blaze.
