“The best part is everybody is OK,” Seema Bhatia said Friday morning by telephone.

An unidentified woman was behind the wheel of a Mercury Tracer on Thursday that shattered the entrance before finally coming to a stop inside the store, according to the police and images of the crash.

The accident “caused moderate structural damage” to the store, at 850 Hempstead Tpke., police said.

“It’s a total mess; all our cooler doors, everything is like messed up. It’s all broken,” she said.

The store reopened Friday afternoon, an employee said, as Bhatia had predicted it would. Bhatia said earlier Friday the 7-Eleven would welcome back customers despite the damage, once an engineer had determined it was structurally sound.

“We will be back stronger and more beautiful, and we will serve our coffee,” Bhatia said.
