About the Assessment Review Commission
The Assessment Review Commission
Created in 1998, the commission is a quasi-independent agency, separate from the Nassau County Department of Assessment, which sets property values.
It reviews applications for correction of assessment, from homeowners and business owners.
ARC has nine commissioners and a staff of about 43, including estate appraisers.
