Accused Franklin Square getaway driver arrested
A Queens man was arrested Wednesday and charged with being the getaway driver from a Franklin Square armed robbery in December, Nassau police said.
Mark Griffin, 46, of Springfield Gardens, Queens, was charged with first degree robbery.
At least two other men are still being sought by Robbery Squad detectives, police said.
Griffin waited in his vehicle outside the Dollar Store, 984 Hempstead Tpke., on Dec. 27, police said, while two men with him, both wearing masks and gloves, entered the store.
One of those two men displayed a handgun, police said, while the other took cash and a cellphone from three employees inside.
None of the employees were injured, police said.
Griffin was to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court, Hempstead.
