A judge freed an accused prostitute from jail Friday on the condition that she undergo a medical exam for venereal disease.

The woman, Chunxiang Cao, 45, of Flushing, had been arrested Thursday after she massaged, without a license, an undercover police officer at a Hicksville spa, then offered him sex for cash, Nassau police said.

Police say they made the arrest at about 6 p.m. Thursday at the Health Spa on West Old Country Road. She's charged with prostitution, a misdemeanor, and a felony, unauthorized practice of a profession - massage.

At the arraignment, Judge Gary Knobel of First District Court in Hempstead let the woman leave court without paying bail but said she must be tested under a section of the state Public Health Law governing venereal disease detection.

She left with a friend and is due back in court Oct. 21.
