A 55-year-old Freeport man was sentenced Friday in Nassau County Court to 1 1/2 years in prison for molesting a 20-year-old male employee last May, prosecutors said.

Alfred Balcerak, a Level 3 sex offender who owned Dun Rite Upholstery in East Norwich, pleaded guilty in January to first-degree attempted sexual abuse for pulling down the employee's pants and grabbing his genitals, police and prosecutors said.

The incident occurred in the store's Syosset warehouse, 18 W. Jericho Tpke., on May 21, 2013, police said.

Balcerak, who will have to re-register as a sex offender as is required by law after each conviction, was also sentenced to three years of post-release supervision by Judge Angelo Delligatti, prosecutors said.

Balcerak's attorney was not available for comment.
