A bookkeeper was arrested Thursday and charged with stealing more than $27,000 from the import-export company where she worked in East Rockaway, Nassau County police said.

Andrea Tils, 56, of 1032 Thomas Ave., Baldwin, was arrested just after noon in East Rockaway, charged with third-degree grand larceny, police said. She is scheduled for arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said that Tils stole the money between March 6 and the time she was arrested.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
