Armed robber hits Elmont gas station
A man armed with a handgun robbed an Elmont gas station early Sunday morning, Nassau police said.
Police said a man wearing gloves and a do-rag over his face and carrying a silver and black handgun went to the Petro gas station on 1238 Hempstead Tpke. at 4:52 a.m. and demanded money from an employee, 23.
The suspect took money from the employee, as well as 10 packs of cigarettes, a cellphone and the gas station's cordless phone before leaving the station in a late-model brown Ford Explorer driven by another man, police said.
No one was injured in the robbery, police said.
