A man armed with a gun stole cash and two packs of cigarettes Saturday night from a convenience store in Westbury, police said Sunday.

The Nassau County police Major Case Bureau is investigating the 6:05 p.m. robbery at the Citgo Quick Mart, 495 Union Ave., police said. A six-foot-tall man, described as having a thin build and wearing a black mask and black gloves, entered the store, showed a black handgun and demanded money, police said.

The 27-year-old male clerk complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. The clerk was not injured and the suspect fled, police said.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
