A Port Washington man faces charges after he threatened a Social Security employee over the phone, saying he would go to her office in Mineola and "blow hers or someone's brains out," police said Thursday.

Patrick Finnegan, 46, of 28 Preston St., is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead. He was arrested at his home Wednesday night and charged with making a terrorist threat and second-degree aggravated harassment, police said.

Nassau County police said the threat was made during a telephone call to Social Security at about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. It was then, police said, that Finnegan "expressed his unhappiness with the service he has received and threatened that if something was not done to resolve his complaint he would go there and blow hers or someone's brains out."

The nature of the complaint was not immediately known.
