Arrest made in E. Meadow car thefts
An East Meadow man was arrested and charged Monday with stealing valuables from parked vehicles in East Meadow, police said.
John Young, 31, of 2293 7th St., was charged with grand larceny, and multiple counts of criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny.
Young was stopped at 3:58 p.m. by a Nassau police officer in the vicinity of 8th Street, police said. After conducting an investigation, police said, Young was found to possess two GPS units, numerous gift cards and credit cards that were stolen from vehicles in the nearby area, police said.
Young was to be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead about 3:58 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
