Arson is suspected in a "serious fire" Friday morning at a West Hempstead bar, police said.

The Blue Tequila Bar & Grill, 157 Hempstead Ave., was not occupied at the time of the 5:15 a.m. blaze, Nassau police said. No one was injured.

The fire was extinguished with the help of 70 members of the West Hempstead Fire Department responded, assisted by the Hempstead Fire Department, Nassau police said in a Friday news release.

Police said "the origin and cause were determined to be arson."

Anyone with information about the fire is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. Callers will be kept anonymous.
