Police responding to a 911 call Thursday morning found the body of a 73-year-old woman inside a Lynbrook home who had died of natural causes and her husband also dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

The names of the deceased were not made public.

Police arrived at the residence shortly after a 911 call at about 9:40 a.m., said Det. Vincent Garcia, a spokesman for the Nassau Police Department.

When officers arrived at the house, which Garcia said had a wheelchair-access ramp at the front door, they discovered the bodies.
