A masked man armed with a black handgun robbed Capital One Bank in Levittown on Friday, Nassau County police said.

The man ordered 10 employees and customers to lie on the floor of the bank, at 3721 Hempstead Tpke., about 9:40 a.m. A teller placed an undetermined amount of cash into a bag and the robber fled, police said.

The suspect was described as about 40 years old, 5 foot 8, with a medium build. He wore a multicolored baseball cap, dark jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers, police said.

Police ask that anyone with information about the robbery call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. Callers remain anonymous.
