The Bayville Bridge will be closed between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Thursday for construction.

A letter Tuesday from Nassau County Commissioner of Public Works , Shila Shah-Gavnoudias, posted on the village’s website notes the closure of the bridge, which connects West Shore Road to Ludlam Avenue.

The county initially had scheduled the closure for overnight, from 11 p.m. Feb. 4 through 6 a.m. Feb. 5.

Access to Bayville during the closure will be via Bayville Road and Bayville Avenue.

Construction work on the bridge includes installing new operating equipment and performing upgrades, Mayor Paul Rupp said in a recent letter to residents.
