Bellmore man dies after hitting building

A Bellmore man died early Sunday after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a building, Nassau police said.
Miguel Romero, 28, was driving a 2003 Honda Accord east on Merrick Road in Bellmore about 5:45 a.m. when his vehicle swerved off the road, hit a parked car, then hit the side of a building at 2355 Merrick Road, police said.
Romero was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to the Nassau County medical examiner's office, police said. The car was impounded as part of the investigation. Police said they do not suspect criminality so far in this case.
