Bethpage man, 19, critically hurt in crash
A 19-year-old man was critically injured Wednesday morning in a one-car crash in Bethpage, police said.
The unidentified Bethpage man was driving a 1997 Nissan northbound on Stewart Avenue "when he lost control of his vehicle negotiating a curve in the road at Maple Avenue," Nassau County police said in a news release.
The car left the road, striking a tree and a sign, police said. The driver was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
There was no apparent criminality in the accident, police said, and the car was impounded for a brake test.
