Bethpage road reopens after vehicle crash
A vehicle crashed into a utility pole in Bethpage Thursday evening, seriously injuring the driver and bringing down electric power lines, Nassau police said.
The motorist, whose injuries were not life-threatening, was taken to a hospital for treatment. The accident took place about 6 p.m., near the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Maple Avenue, police said.
The roadway at the accident location was closed to traffic until about 10 p.m., police said, to allow for their accident investigation, and to allow for Long Island Power Authority repairs.
