A bicyclist was struck and injured by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Franklin Square, Nassau County police said.
The accident occurred on Hempstead Turnpike at Commonwealth Street at 7:06 a.m., police said.
The driver remained at the scene and was not injured.
Police said the cyclist was "conscious and alert" after the accident, but said the extent of the victim's injuries was not immediately known.
