Biltmore and Philip Healey beaches, both in Massapequa, were closed to swimming Wednesday because of elevated levels of bacteria, according to a Nassau County Department of Health news release.

All other Nassau County beaches operating for the 2014 season are currently open, the department said.

For recorded information on beach closings and openings in Nassau, call 516-227-9700. Health department representatives are available weekdays, from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., at 516-227-9717.
