New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is coming to the 'burbs.

He'll speak at an executive breakfast at the Long Island Association in Melville March 13 with 125 of the Island's top business officials. Nassau and Suffolk's county executives are also expected. He will discuss mandate relief and pension reform.

Kevin Law, LIA's chief, said Bloomberg's appearance is his first before the group. Law noted the city and Island economies are strongly linked, citing the many residents of Nassau and Suffolk who commute to jobs in the city. "They bring back 25 percent of the disposable income," he said. "While there's always competition, it's important we work together."
