The Wreck Lead Bridge, the Long Island Rail Road bridge over Reynolds Channel that connects Long Beach to Island Park, suffered "minor damage" when it was struck by a commercial fishing boat early Wednesday, police said.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is not reporting delays on the Long Beach branch due to the accident.

Nassau County police said the crash occurred at about 12:15 a.m., when a 71-foot commercial fishing boat struck the bridge, causing minor damage.

Police said that the U.S. Coast Guard was notified, as were the MTA Police.

The boat did not sink and no one was injured, police said. No charges were filed.
