A boater was rescued in Jones Beach Inlet on Sunday after his inflatable vessel began losing air, police said.

Members of the Nassau County Police Department Marine Aviation Bureau were on routine patrol when they saw the man’s Zodiac inflatable vessel taking on water about 10:20 a.m., police said.

The crew took the boat operator ashore and towed his vessel to Randall Bay in Freeport. There were no reported injuries.
