The man found dead last week near the Meadowbrook State Parkway has been identified as a Roosevelt man, state police said Thursday night.

Kelvin Rolando Cruz Martinez, 27, was found May 8 in the woods on the southbound side of the parkway in Freeport, just north of Sunrise Highway, police said.

Martinez, whose last known address is 25 John St. in Roosevelt, was the victim of a homicide, police.

A $1,000 reward has been set for information leading to an arrest in the case, police said. Confidential tips may be given at 631-756-3300 or lmajcrim@troopers.ny.gov.

No other details were available Thursday night.
