Nassau police launch homicide investigation after body of Far Rockaway man found in Lawrence
The body of a Far Rockaway man was found floating Tuesday evening in Broad Channel in Lawrence and Nassau County police have launched a homicide investigation.
Nassau County police Wednesday evening identified the male victim as Berman Gutierrez, 30, of Far Rockaway.
A 911 call was received at 5:40 p.m. for a body floating in the channel, according to Nassau Homicide Squad detectives.
Members of the Nassau police, the marine and aviation bureaus, along with the Hempstead Bay Constable and Long Beach Fire Department, responded to the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
