Nassau County police recovered a man’s body floating in the water near a Freeport marina on Friday, according to a release.

The police department’s marine bureau made the discovery near Jeffstar Marina, at 100 Jefferson St., after responding to an emergency call on Friday. The incident occurred at 9:15 a.m., police said.

A spokeswoman at the Nassau County Police Department was unable to clarify the time of the call, the unit’s arrival and the time the body was found and pulled out.

The man was pronounced dead by a medic at 2:41 p.m. Friday, police said.
