The dead body of an unidentified male was pulled from the water off Jones Beach State Park Thursday afternoon, police said.

State Park Police said they were notified at 5:25 p.m. about the body, located in the vicinity of the park's Central Mall.

The remains were removed from the water and taken to the Nassau County medical examiner's office, police said.

No additional information was released Thursday by police investigators.

State Park Police requested that anyone with information contact them at 631-321-3700.
