The body of a woman was found floating Monday morning off Long Beach, city police said.

Long Beach police said her death appears to be noncriminal and Nassau police said they continue to investigate.

Firefighters found the body about 30 feet offshore in Reynolds Channel about 6:40 a.m. between Long Beach Road and the railroad trestle, Long Beach Fire Chief Richard Corbett said.

Police said Island Park firefighters in a boat guided the body to shore to await Nassau police.
