Bomb threat shuts Port Washington's Main St.
A bomb threat made to a bank closed Main Street in Port Washington for nearly three hours Wednesday morning, Port Washington police said.
Police responded to a bomb threat at the Astoria Federal Savings branch at 110 Main St. at about 8:43 a.m., said Assistant Police Chief James Salerno.
Salerno said the bank, between Belleview and Evergreen avenues, was searched by the Nassau County police's bomb squad and nothing was discovered.
Police had closed Main Street during the search by the bomb squad, but it was being reopened to traffic at about 11:30 a.m., Salerno said.
