A bouncer at a Westbury bar faces assault and weapons charges after he used a metal baton to strike two men in an altercation early Sunday morning, Nassau County police said.

Yvon Hyppolite, 36, of 136th Street, Richmond Hill, was working as a security guard at Mi Pueblito Bar, 755 Old Country Rd., when he had to physically remove two men from the bar about 12:15 a.m., according to a police report.

After removing the two men, each 30 years old, police said Hyppolite became involved in a fight with them and used the baton to strike both men in the head, causing lacerations.

Both victims were taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where one received nine stitches in his head and the other 10.

Hyppolite was arrested without incident, police said, and is charged with two counts of assault and possession of a dangerous weapon.

He is being held on $1,500 bond or $750 cash bail and is scheduled to appear Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
