Boundary Avenue/Merritts Road closure planned, officials say
Starting Monday, the eastbound right lane of Boundary Avenue/Merritts Road over the Bethpage State Parkway at the edge of South Farmingdale will be closed during noncommuting hours, officials said.
Closing the lane will allow a sidewalk to be replaced so that it complies with the American Disabilities Act, transportation officials said Saturday.
The work will be done from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and should take about a month.
The new sidewalk is one of $7.8 million of state-funded projects planned for Long Island’s busiest roads.
