A 10-year-old boy was struck by a car and seriously injured while crossing the street in Woodmere Wednesday afternoon, Nassau police said.

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the 3:25 p.m. accident at Franklin Avenue and West Broadway where, police said, the boy tried to cross the street and was struck by a westbound 2015 Lexus.

The force of the crash tossed the victim into the eastbound lanes, police said, “causing him to suffer multiple trauma injuries.”

He was listed in serious condition at a hospital, detectives said, adding that no criminality was involved.
