Boy, 15, charged in Merrick pellet gun rob
A 15-year-old Staten Island boy who used a pellet gun to rob three teens of cash and a cell phone Wednesday morning at the Merrick train station will be charged as an adult, Nassau County police said.
Courtney Clarke pulled a black handgun - later identified by police as a pellet gun - to rob three other teens at 2:36 a.m., police said.
Clarke approached the three youths, pulled the gun and demanded money, police said. Two of the victims gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and an iPhone, according to a news release. Another victim had no money.
The three teens found a Seventh Precinct police officer and notified him of the incident. The officer was able to find the suspect and arrest him, the release said. There were no injuries.
Clarke faces two counts of robbery and one count of attempted robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
