An 11-year-old boy walking to school was struck by a car and injured Friday morning in Port Washington, police said.

Port Washington police did not release the name of the boy, who they said suffered a minor leg injury. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The accident was on Willowdale Avenue near the intersection with Mackey Avenue at about 8 a.m., police said. The driver stopped, and police said there was no criminality involved.
