A hit-and-run crash in Elmont on Friday left a pedestrian hospitalized with a brain hemorrhaging and fractures to her face and spine, Nassau County police said Saturday.

Police said the assailant in the 3:50 a.m. crash that injured the victim hasn't been caught. The woman, 32, was crossing Linden Boulevard at 239th Street when she was struck by the car that then fled, police said.

Detectives believe the vehicle was a green, older Toyota Camry with "ECH" as part of its New York State license plate.

The victim, who police have not publicly identified, was at North Shore University Hospital Saturday. Her condition was unavailable.

Police urged anyone with information to call 800-244-TIPS, the police hotline.
