A Valley Stream man has been charged with burglary after he broke into a home through a kitchen window Friday morning, Nassau County police said.

Police said Brian E. Selub, 35, entered the Valley Stream house at 10:48 a.m. A 23-year-old female resident heard a noise and saw Selub standing in the kitchen, police said.

Selub ran out through the front door without taking anything, police said.

A passerby flagged down responding officers and alerted them to where the fleeing Selub was headed. He was arrested at his home without incident, police said.

Selub is charged with second-degree burglary, police said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
