Nassau County police arrested a Brooklyn man after he attempted to rob another man leaving a check cashing store in Valley Stream early Saturday.

Police said Ryed A. Alsaidi reached into the 20-year-old victim's pockets and demanded cash near the Check Cashing store at 500 W. Sunrise Hwy.

When the victim refused, police said, Alsaidi threatened him with a gun, which was not displayed. The victim ran and called police.

Responding police officers located Alsaidi in the rear of 460 W. Sunrise Hwy. and arrested him without incident.

No injuries were reported.

Alsaidi, 18, of 936 E. 80th St., Brooklyn, is charged with second-degree robbery and will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
