A Brooklyn woman died after an apparent medical problem caused her to lose control of her vehicle as she was driving in Carle Place on Saturday evening, Nassau police said.

The 68-year-old woman, who was not identified, was driving a 2003 Dodge Neon on Voice Road at 6:05 p.m. when she became incapacitated due to an apparent medical emergency, police said.

Her car went off the road into a row of bushes, coming to rest after hitting a steel parking sign post, police said.

Police found the woman in cardiac arrest and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation upon her before she was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead about an hour after the crash.

Police said the woman had no passengers, and no one else was injured.
